A tailor made subscription model
We Drive Solar has developed a subscription model based on the GoodMoovs subscription functionalities. Customers pay for credits which relate to reservation time of a vehicle. Depending on the time of day, the amount of credits needed for a certain reservation time is completely customizable.
Besides reservation time, customers also pay per kilometer driven. Depending on which car the customer decides to reserve, an according kilometer compensation is in place.

The first bidirectional city in the world:
Utrecht
The city of Utrecht has a wider vision with regards to the role shared BEV's will have in the future. Together with the city of Utrecht We Drive Solar has launched an initiative to become the first bidirectional city in the world, where BEV's will play an active role in balancing the grid load and supplying households and companies within the city with green energy where possible.
We Drive Solar together with Hyundai, Renault and soon also Sono Motors provides the shared BEV's through the city making Utrecht the main hub for We Drive Solar.
"We started 10 years ago with solar panels on the roofs of schools. Now we manage 10,000 solar panels and we use the batteries of shared electric cars to make this energy available at the right time. As a result, our solar energy is now available 24 hours a day.
Together with partners We Drive Solar has developed the energy system of the future in which bi-directional charging is the so called 'golden egg'. This means that we see shared electric cars not only as a way to make our mobility more sustainable, but also as a way to build a sustainable energy system, by using the cars' batteries to store sustainably generated electricity. In our view the electric car is a central part of the energy system.
In 2019 we had a world premiere: The first car and charging station suitable for AC bi-directional charging. In 2021 We Drive Solar engaged in a strategic cooperation with Hyundai and Utrecht to develop the first bidirectional city. This initiative was awarded with the 2021 Fully Charged City Prize.
Our cooperation with GoodMoovs is going very well. Together, we manage a large and fast growing fleet of shared electric cars and by doing so we are developing the building blocks for the energy system of the future.
We are in favour of open source and open standards and therefor we are happy to share our solutions and knowledge with other cities and car-operators."
